Izzy and her dog, Fifi, enjoy spending time exploring dog-friendly places in Yorkshire. One of Izzy & Fifi’s favourite towns for a day out is Otley in West Yorkshire. Below Izzy has shared with us her recommendations of the best things to do on a visit to Otley.
Best Dog Walk Otley Chevin Forest Park is my favourite place to walk, it is large enough to spend all day walking, but there are lots of brilliant short walks too. You can see a map of the Chevin here, one of my favourite walks is to start at the ‘Surprise View’ point, where you’ll find incredible views across the Wharfe Valley, then you can walk in a loop through a woodland area. Fifi loves the woodland areas for chasing squirrels. If it has been raining then make sure to put your wellies on! Best Dog-Friendly Café Salami & Co is a very trendy dog-friendly café, and you and your dog will feel very welcome here. Don’t worry if your dog is muddy or wet, they have towels and mats for them to rest on. They have a ‘Hound Menu’ with food and drinks for your dog, and they also have an array of baked goods for dogs on the counter. On my most recent visit, Fifi and her friend each had a ‘puppuccino’ and they shared some dog doughnuts, it all went down a treat! The food for human consumption is also very good, my favourite is the delicious avocado on toast, and they have an excellent array of freshly baked cakes. Best Dog-Friendly Pub Stew and Oyster is a friendly and relaxed pub, where dogs are welcome. They have a jar of dog biscuits and water bowls. The food here is delicious, even if you don’t like stew or oysters - they have great vegetarian and vegan options. Plus, if you order a hot drink you also get a free brownie! |
