Mark and I stayed at The Hayloft between 15 - 19 October with our rescue JRT Patch, for Patch to receive some behavioural training.
The Hayloft is absolutely amazing. The accommodation is spacious, comfortable, with all the mod cons including a dishwasher and a washing machine if needed 😊
The accommodation also has amazingly stunning views and a wonderful enclosed garden that Patch enjoyed having the freedom to run around in. The garden also has a light that comes on at night which is really helpful for the after dark doggie toilet breaks 😊
Their is also a table and chairs should you wish to chill in the garden.
Charlene is such a fantastic host. Charlene helped us greatly with Patch and his issues. During our stay following a lengthy and very informative get together where Mark & I explained all the issues Patch has with daily life, Charlene offered us some tips before we started our first intensive behavioural training session.
It turned out that is wasn't just Patch that needed training but Mark & I also needed to change our ways 😊
We had two different sessions each day. Patch got introduced to other dogs and spent some time doing some agility. This was just the tip of the iceberg with his training.
We left The Hayloft with a new dog 😊 , well the same dog but a calmer, improved dog. The humans have also improved a little 😊
Since being home Patch is becoming a little calmer each time with going out and the lead pulling is reducing more and more each time we take a walk. Patch has also managed a trip to our local staying fairly calm why we ate our lunch. He is also learning that noises don't need to be told off 😊 , and he stayed cool, calm & collected while we had a workman in the house for over two hours.
Patch, Mark & I still have a lot of work to do before our Patch is the calm dog he deserves to be, but Charlene has given us hope and so has Patch that he can become a much less anxious dog in time.
One last thing the breakfast box is also another thing to write home about 😊
All in all we are glad we found The Hayloft and Charlene. Words can't really describe how perfect this place is especially for doggies. The Hayloft is the most dog friendly place I have ever stayed in and still has everything for the pawrents.
We can't wait to return 😊😊😊👍👍👍🐾🐕🐾🐕🐾🐕🐾
