We always travel by car to a village in Austria called Brand, with two overnight stops on the way, in France and Germany. In Valenciennes the Campanile has a 5 euro charge for dogs and is a clean, comfortable hotel. In Germany we stay at a roadside hotel on the B10 called the Frauenstein, midway between Pirmasens and Landau. The food is excellent and dogs are made very welcome, with Carys usually being brought a handful of steak from the kitchen.

In Brand we stay with our daughter, but every restaurant in the village and surrounding area welcomes dogs, as do the hotels. It is a beautiful village and Carys really enjoys her walks there.
