Just back from a lovely short break in Lustleigh, South Devon. We stayed right in the village at Little Holme Cottage. Cottage warm and cosy, sofa is a little tired but plenty of hot water and bed very comfy. So many dog and human walks straight from the village you don't have to over the car all week if you don't want to. WE recommend Primrose Cottage Tea Rooms about 30 paces away. Superb food and very dog friendly, if they are clean and dry or wet and muddy. Also dog friendly cafe at Parke about an hour and twenty mins walk away. Also excellent food and dog friendly
Yeomadon Farm Cottages. Four Dog Friendly super clean cottages on working farm. Four fishing lakes, lots of walks and dog friendly beaches nearby.
What an absolutely awesome place to holiday with your fur friends! Full of dog friendly cafes, beaches and restaurants and even a little water powered train that takes you up the side of the cliff from Lynmouth to Lynton. Highly recommend the walk to Watersmeet, a beautiful hidden cafe in the forest, next to a waterfall. We have always holidayed with our dogs in Cornwall and were dubious about trying somewhere new but we are so glad we did as Lynmouth is a hidden gem with gorgeous views. It’s one of those places where dogs needs are considered and there is a real animal loving community spirit. As I’m sure most dog owners would agree, feeling like your dogs are welcomed as part of the family makes the holiday so much more enjoyable. Thanks for having us Lynton and Lynmouth :)
My husband, our visually impaired mini w/h dachshund and myself had the most beautiful week at a fabulous apartment/suite in a b&b at Bulleigh Barton Manor, Ipplepen.
We were greeted by the owner who allowed us to drop our luggage off earlier than we had planned, he gave my husband a guided tour and promised us we would receive a delicious cream tea after we returned from a short sight seeing trip. I was absolutely blown away by the beauty of the grounds and the Manor House. Our suite was spacious and extremely comfortable and there was a lovely dog hamper waiting for our dachshund in the suite, including high end dog food and treats, poo bags, a blanket To use during his visit plus many more lovely items. The breakfast menu was outstanding and because our dog stayed with us we were in a separate dining room with an outstanding view over the gardens which we didn’t object to at all. There is a special menu that you can order hot items especially for the dog’s breakfast which is freshly cooked to order. The owners ask for a small donation for these which is given to a local animal shelter. Our dachshund adored his morning sausage and even though he’s blind he knew when the staff were about to pop the bowl in front of him. The staff here are absolutely amazing and nothing is too much trouble. Hidden away in a private area of the garden is a swimming pool and summer house which we took advantage of on many days. Our dachshund would stay in the shade next to the summer house as he isn’t keen on too much sunshine. We booked Lilac Cottage in Brixham through Airbnb and it was brilliant! So close to the town and so many dog friendly places to go visit. Our cockapoo and zuchon enjoyed cocktails in Liberty and a lovely carvery at The Prince William. We had excellent breakfasts in small cafes around the town. They also visited the Brixham Museum, a trip on the ferry and Big Wheel in Torquay, and there was a dog friendly day at the Lido - our second visit and we will return!!!
Great friendly place for all pups to holiday. Plenty of places to eat with areas for dogs inside and out. Great coastal walks and footpaths. Best of all the main sandy beach has a small section for just humans! A larger area for dogs on leads, but a huge stretch for your dogs to run play swim and surf off the lead and even the last week in Aug in hot weather it wasn't busy in this area. 30 mins away you can even take your best friend to valley of the rocks for a walk, or a ride on the steepest water train in Lynmouth. |
